Meet David

david.jpg - 8080 Bytes Hi, I'm David, and welcome to my own little spot in cyberspace. I'm 30 years old, and I'm happily  married to my sweetheart, Suzanne. We have a wonderful little girl named Marie Elena, and she has just turned three. We love her so much, and she's brought so much love into our life. I just finished my first year back at Southwest Texas State University  and I hope to finish in the summer of 2001.  I'm finishing my degree in Computer Information Systems.  This decision came after having back surgery about a year ago. I won't be the typical college student since I'm a bit older than most of the students there, but I'm looking forward to starting a wonderful career in the computer world.  I also have my own web design business called CUTTING EDGE WEB DESIGN in which I get to do what I love best, and that is creating web pages.  Please
I had the opportunity to serve as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Alberta, Canada.  I was there during the years 1991 to 1993, and I enjoyed every moment of it.  I made many lifelong friends while I was there, and I still think of them very often,  Make sure and visit the pate that I created for my mission.  The Canada Calgary Mission is a bit smaller than it was while I was there, bit it is still as beautiful as ever.

One of my favorite passions is music, and I guess you can say that my world revolveswpe02563.gif (111772 bytes) around it.  I played the sax in band throughout high school, and I really enjoyed it, but once I graduated I was ready to move on to something else.  I received my first drum set on my fifteenth birthday, and I had been playing the drums since, but it was just after I graduated when I purchased my first bass guitar.  I paid $75 for a Memphis bass, and that included a new set of strings.  I thought that was a steal, and it was.  I started practicing just about anything, and I started playing with a band called  A.C. & The Turn.   It gave me the opportunity to express myself musically.  I once told my wife that I don't know what I would do without music.  I still don't know, but until that happens I'll just keep on playin'.  I don't play with a band anymore, but I still break out the bass once in a while to keep my fingers fresh.   I just bought my first electric drum set, and I absolutely love it.  I'm hoping to have more opportunities in the future to play live again as I enjoy playing music for people who enjoy it.

I know what you're thinking.  Man, this guy has quite a musical taste.  Well, you're right.  I've been introduced to many different styles, and I've fallen in love with most of them.  My CD collection will attest to that.  I strongly believe that a musician doesn't just love one type of music, but loves a little bit of everything.  That's what helps create his own style.

I have a deep passion for studying the Mayan Indians, and the whole civilization that once existed in the Yucatan of Mexico.  This all came after visiting Cancun with Suzanne back in March of 1997.  Ever since then, I have been studying as much as I could about how these ancient inhabitants were related to the people mentioned in the "Book of Mormon."  It's very fascinating, and I would encourage you to learn more about it.  I've created a web page that has some pictures of our visit.  Make sure and visit David & Suzanne's Chichen Itza Page.
wpe44191.gif (129407 bytes)I also enjoy studying about the Battle of the Alamo, and I have been doing so for years.  I've created a web page with some of my thoughts that I have accumulatedCopy_of_Alamo.jpg (61207 bytes) throughout the years.  If you would like to see my page just click here: David's Alamo Page.  Make sure and let me know what you think.
